Yoga is not about crossing your feet behind your head. It is about your indivdiual body and your self. I have been practising yoga since 2004 and teaching since 2013. Through my various trainings I learned to individually adapt postures to different needs.  I love to challenge my students on a physical as well as a mental level but at the same time provide a lot of room for balance and relaxation. My practice and teaching are influenced by Hatha, Vinyasa, Iyengar, Tantra, Ayurveda and Vedanta (an ancient yogic philosophy still applicable in modern times.)

In yoga I find peace and quiet as well as strength and endurance. I started with a regular yoga practice to heal my back issues. Little did I know back then, that yoga would become a crucial part of my everyday life. I soon realized that yoga did not only help my back, but also improve my performance as a musical actress and singer. Yoga enhances my vocal and performing presence. I want my students to find their passion, peace and quiet too.

I teach in various studios in and around Zurich, hold yoga retreats, and work as a musical educator and actress.

I began practicing yoga at a point in my life, where I’d just ventured into the “real world”. I had found my way into a demanding, rapidly growing start up company, and was left very overwhelmed and out of my depth. Yoga allowed me to find a sense of steadiness, a space in which I felt safe and held and gave me somewhere that I could be true to how I was feeling. I believe that yoga can be tailored to provide a particular, unique medicine for everyone; be it finding stillness, wringing out life's stresses and tensions, or focusing on biomechanics to help heal strains and injuries.

My yoga journey started back in 2011 in the U.S. Not only did yoga strengthen my body but it also gave me calmness and inner peace. Meanwhile yoga has literally become an anchor for me in so many life situations. Influenced by my trainings and various teachers, my yoga style is quite traditional, simple, natural and structured, with a sense of energy but equally calm and relaxing. In my classes, my aim is to hold a safe space for the students, no matter their yoga background and level of experience, and naturally let them feel guided through my voice and now and then assist with hands-on adjustments.

I started practicing yoga in a church basement in the late 90s and I've brought my yoga mat from city to city and country to country ever since. Yin and restorative yoga have helped me cultivate stillness for more than a decade and I love sharing these practices with others. My aim is to allow students to deepen into their own experiences and listen to what their bodies need. I treat each class as an escape from the hectic world around us and embrace using props, slowing down, feeling the rebound effect—and the tongue-in-cheek description of yin or restorative yoga as 'lazy yoga.'

Yoga changed my life. Before yoga, I was living a sedentary lifestyle and dealing with the pressures of school and work. I enrolled in a semester of yoga to satisfy my physical education requirements, and to hopefully improve my health. When I noticed a true transformation was beginning to take place within myself, my motivation to do more yoga grew, and my health and happiness grew with it. 

Yoga can be and is, for everyone. As a teacher, I aim to help others find a practice of their own, and be a helping hand on their path to health and happiness.

I really enjoy working with and understanding people, their bodies and what makes them tick. I have particular interests in Reiki and Aura Healing and have completed courses in both topics but want to continue this and learn more.
My goal is to help others to make healthy decisions and improvements, both physically and mentally, and to teach people how to be more mindful, create some calm and take time to look after themselves.
